THE APPOINTMENT ?
-
Make sure to keep your cat indoors the day of the appointment.
-
A calm environment is important for your cat to feel comfortable. Avoid visitors at the same time as the vet appointment.
-
It is always appropriate to limit hiding places, by closing the doors of certain rooms, for example. In some cases, it can be necessary to isolate the cat in a room without hiding places (ex: bathroom) 5 minutes before the appointment.
-
Prepare a large bath towel. It may be useful if restraint is required.
Typically, the first part of the appointment consists in asking questions about your cat's health. It may be a good idea to avoid holding your cat at this moment... This time allows him to acclimate to the new visit!
Take note that the exam can done on a kitchen counter or on the floor ... depending on your preferences and those of your kitty!
The height of the kitchen table is not comfortable for the lower back !
